VISA INSTRUCTION GUIDE FOR ETHIOPIA

TOURIST VISA - Please send the following:

1. U.S. Passport, signed and valid for at least 6 months.

2. One completed application form. All questions answered and signed.

3. One passport size photo, color.

4. Copy of airline tickets or travel agent itinerary.

BUSINESS VISA - Please send the following:

1. U.S. Passport, signed and valid for at least 6 months.

2. One completed application form. All questions answered and signed.

3. One passport size photo, color.

4. Business cover letter from your company stating purpose of travel, dates of travel, name and contact of the company in Ethiopia and financial guarantee for all your expenses.

Pre-Approval Process
You must obtain pre-approval in order to travel to Ethiopia on business. Your host or sponsor must contact
the Ethiopian Department of Immigration or the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on
your behalf. They must request that this pre-approval be sent to the Ethiopian Embassy in Washington DC.

Copy of Visa Pre-Approval
You must provide a copy of your visa pre-approval from the Department of Immigration in Ethiopia. Your visa cannot be processed without an original approval sent directly to the consulate and a copy of the approval included in with your visa application.

6. Letter of Invitation: All business visa applicants must submit a invitation letter from the host company in Ethiopia. The invitation letter should be addressed to the Ethiopian Embassy and explaining the purpose of his/her travels.

7. Copy of your airline ticket or travel agent itinerary.

C. Documents received after 10:30am, processing will begin the next business day.

D. You will be required to show your yellow fever vaccination certificate upon arrival in Ethiopia.
