A passport and visa are required. Visas should be obtained in advance, although airport visas are available. Travelers who opt to obtain an airport visa should expect delays upon arrival.

Passports is required for U.S. citizens traveling to Kuwait. U.S. citizens can obtain visitor visas for a fee at the port of entry in Kuwait. Travelers who overstay their visas may face serious fines when leaving Kuwait. Effective March 08 2004, the visa to enter Kuwait is issued upon arrival at border entry points for stay up to 30 days. An extension of stay may be applied for locally.
